city2science

city2science is a German company for science communication and strategic consulting, founded in 2012 by CEO Dr. Annette Klinkert. Based on many years of management-experience in the fields of city-management and science communication, city2science supports local stakeholders, policy makers, universities and scientific institutions by providing strategic consulting and innovative communication strategies connecting science, city and society.

city2science GmbH initializes and organizes dialogues between representatives of universities, local decision-makers, cultural institutions, companies, policy makers, citizens and media. Within this process, stakeholders of cities and scientific institutions are motivated to develop a mutual understanding of their specific challenges and capacities in a local, national and international context.

Having conducted a large number of science-communication-events and policy-related strategies of strategic city management, city2science coordinates and supports sustainable alliances in cities and regions by encouraging dialogue-oriented processes on a national and international level. Interactive, accessible and individually designed formats of science communication are designed to strengthen local identities, open dialogues and motivate citizens to become active stakeholders of a knowledge-based society. city2science exchanges ideas and best practices with science communicators and city-stakeholders throughout Europe.

In January 2013 city2science was appointed by the European Science Events Association (EUSEA) as Project Officer within the European Platform of Local Authorities and Communicators Engaged in Science (PLACES). In this project, 60 institutions from 27 countries develop concepts for a European “City of Scientific Culture” (www.openplaces.eu).
