SciCultureD Athen- Maker session

Since January 2022, city2science is one of four project partners in the Erasmus+ funded project SciCultureD.  The project offers an innovative 5-day program at the interface of science, art and entrepreneurship.

“Transdisciplinary collaboration towards a more innovative and equitable society, and sustainable environment”. The 5-day Design Thinking intensive workshop is aimed at young scientists, but also artists, creative professionals, teachers, people from the education sector or the start-up scene. The main topics are the European Green Deal and the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. The project is coordinated by the University of Malta. Other partners are the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences and the Greek NGO Science View.

One of the three 5-day intensive workshops took place in Athens, Greece, from June 20-24. Together with the other project partners, we prepared the content of this intensive one-week workshop format. In addition to input on stakeholder engagement, this included conducting a maker workshop. The next intensive course is planned for 2023 in Bochum. We will prepare this course together with stakeholders from the strategy process of the UniverCity network Bochum and the other consortium partners. The last course within the project will take place in Malta in 2024. Within the project city2science is also responsible for strategically anchoring transdisciplinary and innovative approaches in higher education.
