city2science is expanding its international engagement: In March 2026, CEO Dr. Annette Klinkert participated in the Global Education Conclave 2026 at CGC University in Mohali, India.
The conference brought together international experts from Europe, Asia, and the Americas to discuss the future of higher education in times of rapid technological and societal change. Key topics included the role of artificial intelligence, new leadership models, and the contribution of universities to global cooperation and peacebuilding.
Invited by CGC University, Annette Klinkert joined a panel on “Leadership in the EduVerse: Reimagining the Role of Academic Visionaries”, where she contributed perspectives on science–society engagement. Drawing on city2science’s experience, she highlighted the importance of connecting academic research with societal actors, strengthening public engagement, and developing new formats for collaboration beyond institutional boundaries.
The exchange in Mohali once again underlined that questions of societal impact, science communication, and international collaboration are of global relevance. Universities worldwide are increasingly challenged to position themselves as active partners in addressing complex societal transformations.
For city2science, the visit marks an important step in strengthening international partnerships and exploring future collaborations—particularly in the context of training and capacity building for science–society interfaces.
